If you can't tell I am honestly obsessed with old & vintage! I have been on the hunt for the perfect pieces to paint or just vintage up. Here in the big city it is hard to find old items or furniture that is not marked up insanely because it looks "vintage" so I take to the online garage sales. I have purchased a few pieces already online and have made great contacts who now send me pictures first of any furniture they want to sell.
So let me introduce you to my new piece, my metal green velvet bench.
Isn't it a beaut??? I love the green velvet. If you ask my husband he might give you a different opinion ;)
So I do like it the way it is but my chalk paint personality came out. I couldn't resist my white chalk paint. The contrast of white and the vintage green is going to be gorgeous!!

Here are the very fancy tools I used for this project. In the end I only used the red paint brush and Artminds Chalk paint.
I used the clear packing tape to protect the velvet.'
Is the white paint not stunning?? Now you don't have to be picasso to do this. I slapped on the paint with no special technique.
The piece has a lot of detail in the leaves and grapes so I had you do a lot of dabbing to really get
into all the nooks.
Did you notice my fancy paint tray ? LOL only the finest here ;)
How do you celebrate a successful DIY? Well I grabbed a bottle of Prosecco, some South Hill Designs jewelry and toasted to fun and beautiful DIY!
**UPDATE** For christmas ill be adding some burlap to the handles
